In case anyone is interested per America's test kitchen the best jared pasta sauce is Bertolli's, although personally I buy whatever is on sell and "doctor" it up! what is your favorite bought pasta sauce?

I keep a jar of Great Value (generic from Wal-Mart) Mushroom and Green Pepper on hand for quick meals (pizza bread, etc). I think it's yummy and it's like 2 bucks!

I shop at Wal-Mart for all of my non-perishables, I have not tried their pasta sauce but will check it out!

I've had my friends and even my family ask for my spaghetti sauce recipe. ha! I make Betty Crocker's recipe and add a jar of whatever is the least expensive/on sale. Dunno. It just works. But Shhhh!

I like Classico, but it's what Sams sells in the 3 pack. My kids tell me just to use the cheap stuff from Target, they like it better.

I buy hunts or del monte cans of sauce. 86 cents a piece. They aren't the greatest but once you add a couple of fresh ingredients and spices they taste wonderful.

Just read the labels between the two, no wonder my kids like the Target one, it's way higher in sugar.

Seems like kids always can find the extra sugar in things hehe they have sugar powers!

'Best' spaghetti sauce is very arbitrary since there are so many diferent brands and lots of different falvors (meat, cheese, chunky, etc.) People's taste vary widely on sauce, so pick the one your family likes best and/or costs the least.

My family loves the Classico Four Cheese Sauce. Sometimes I'll add a little red wine. I'll have to try the Bertolli.

My new found favorite is Lucini Italia Tuscan Marinara with Roasted Garlic Sauce (handcrafted in Small Batches) available from COSTCO $7.99 for two 25.5 oz Jars

it sounds as if we all add our own ingredients to whatever brand we buy, which is what I thought!! Good for us!!

I use Ragu old world traditional the secret is to let it simmer for about an hour. I always get complements on it.

I like the rosted garlic and onion. Usually use Hunts or Del Monte, but I'm with the rest of you I doctor it so it doesn't make to much difference what it starts out to be. My family hates tomatoes and mushrooms so as long as there are no chunks of those they don't really care. Didn't AR have a survey on this not to long ago?

Hands down, Newman's Own tomato basil Bombolina is the BEST! I love it, and it's all-natural.

Our favorite is Bertolli Vineyard Collection, Marinara with burgundy wine. It is soooo good, it is the only one we do not "doctor up" with anything!

I always make my own or the Italian side of the family would disown me. I cheated once and bought a Classico Alfredo Sauce and did not like it at all.
